APALACHEE HIGH SCHOOL BAR-B-CATS - JAY ROACH
Apalachee High School Bar‑B‑Cats began as an after‑school BBQ club and quickly evolved into a competition cook team. Focused on developing the next generation of pitmasters, the team earned multiple calls in their first season, including Reserve Grand Champion and top finishes across several categories. Led by pitmaster Jay Roach, a math teacher and certified BBQ judge, the program promotes life skills, teamwork, and a lifelong passion for BBQ.
DADDY & ME - KOLBY & KYLE SCHNAUTZ
Kolby and Kyle are the present, and the future, of Daddy and Me BBQ. These boys have grown up cooking with dad at home, and in competitions across the Pacific Northwest. While pork ribs are their favorite to cook (and eat), their favorite competition turn in is brisket…they do it barefoot! Because, “barefoot brisket” is the best! Their personalities really shine when they get to share their love of barbecue and B&B charcoal with others. They’re always looking to tell folks a bbq story!
FREE BIRD BBQ - PAYTON LEWIS
Payton Lewis has been involved in competition BBQ from a young age, following in the footsteps of his father, Benjy Lewis of the Bayou BBQ Competition Team, who has competed regionally since 2011. At just 7 years old, Payton began entering Kids’ Q contests alongside his dad and quickly found success, earning top calls in pork chop and steak categories.
He is a multi-time winner at events including the Taste of Blanchard Kids Q, Marksville BBQ Throwdown, Morgan City Bayou BBQ Bash, and the North Louisiana State Championship BBQ Contest.
In February 2026, Payton competed on a larger stage at the World Championship BBQ Contest in Houston, representing the Texas Social Club in the Jr. Cookoff World Championship. Competing against 42 talented young cooks, he earned Junior Grand Champion.
With a strong competitive drive, Payton looks ahead to more opportunities and proudly serves as a Junior Ambassador for B&B Charcoal.
GRILL WITH KNOX - KNOX ROUNDSAVILLE
Team Grill With Knox competes in cooking competitions through 4-H. During Knox’s first year of competition, he won 1st at the county cook-off in chicken and 2nd at the state cook-off. His second year of competition netted 1st place at both the county and state cook-offs! Knox and his younger brothers have also competed and podiumed at the 4-H tailgating cook-off and 4-H baking competitions.
HOLT BROTHERS BBQ - HOLLIS HOLT
Hollis Holt is a key team member of Holt Brothers BBQ, cooking with his dad at 15+ contests a year in SCA and KCBS kids divisions. He was the 2024 Georgia SCA Kids Champion and has a stack of trophies and awards. He looks forward to when he turns 14 so he can compete against his dad.
MOODY TEEN BBQ - MACKENNA YORK
I'm MacKenna York AKA moodyteenbbq. I've been competing in SCA since I was 13 years old. This will be my 5th year competing in SCA and my 4th year competing at SCA worlds. I am also on my high schools ProStart Culinary team! I'm super excited to compete this year and be on team B&B!! #beatdad
PIG DIAMONDS - COLE LITTLE
Cole Little has just started his BBQ competition journey and enjoys cooking for family and friends. He supports his dad’s team, Pig Diamonds, helping wherever needed—from delivering whole-hog boxes to judges to preparing presentation garnishes.
Cole has won a local chili contest and competed in several kids’ competitions. Outside of BBQ, he plays competitive school basketball and baseball year-round.
His competitive spirit and determination show on the field, the court, and behind the grill.
FAT PASTOR JR - ASHER NILES
Asher Niles, known as The Fat Pastor Junior, is a rising force in live-fire cooking and youth food sports. At just 11 years old, he has earned a reputation for skill, composure, and creativity—often holding his own alongside seasoned pitmasters and professional chefs.
The son of chef and TV personality Shawn Niles (The Fat Pastor), Asher grew up around open flames and community tables. After appearing on MasterChef as a toddler, he later earned a top 4 finish on MasterChef Junior Season 9, gaining recognition from top culinary judges.
Today, Asher is a Kids World Open Fire Champion and a frequent competitor and judge in youth food competitions across the country. His bold, live-fire cooking style is fueled by his passion for the craft and his choice of B&B Charcoal for consistency and flavor.
Beyond competition, Asher is dedicated to inspiring other kids—proving that passion, not age, defines excellence.
APALACHEE HIGH SCHOOL BAR-B-CATS - JAY ROACH
Apalachee High School Bar-B-Cats started as a BBQ Club after school program that quickly turned into a Competition BBQ Cook Team when students learned about the world of competitive cooking. Our goal is to raise the next generation of pitmasters and to make friends while learning a life-long skill that can be passed down for generations. We are proud to have accomplishments in these students very first year of competing including Reserve Grand Champion, 1st Ribs, 2nd Pork, 3rd Turkey Ancillary, 5th Beef Ancillary, 8th Burger, 4th Steak, 9th Steak, 8th Pork Pro.
Pitmaster Jay Roach is a math teacher at Apalachee HS with a BBQ problem and is a KCBS Master judge, certified judge for GBA, MBN, SCA, PCA. His passion is passing on and growing the sport of BBQ and changing lives through cooking.

Payton stepped onto the big stage this year as a representative of the Texas Social Club at the World Championship BBQ Contest in Houston, TX at the end of February 2026. He was competing in the Jr. Cookoff World Championship against 42 other cooks who had impressive resumes of their own. When the winners were called, Payton was awarded with the Junior Grand Champion, a coveted World Championship that he feels will catapult him into many more wins and opportunities. The future is bright for this young pitmaster, and he is excited to partner with Team B&B Charcoal as a Junior Ambassador to promote their brand and products.

Meet Charles Dabbs, the pitmaster behind 1776 BBQ, driven by faith, family, and flavor. Inspired by his late grandfather, "Big Jim" Thrasher, Charles has been lighting up the BBQ world since 2016, with 2024 marking a key year in his journey. Known for his welcoming nature, he and his wife take their passion on the road with a food truck featuring their famous brisket grilled cheese. When not at the smoker, he enjoys fishing and pool, but his heart belongs to BBQ. Visit 1776 BBQ and “Tell’em CJ sent ya!”—where every meal is a celebration of great food and company.

716 SOUTH - STEVE AND CATHERINE NOBLE
716 South BBQ and Steak Team, based in Middle Tennessee, was founded in 2021 by Steve Noble, his wife Catherine, and her father Larry Alford. They compete in food sport events, including SCA, World Food Championships, KCBS, and PCA. Steve, focused on steak, finished 2nd in the 2024 SCA Steak Points Chase and will compete in his first WFC in 2025. Catherine, a top ancillary cook, won the SCA Ancillary Points Chase in 2023 and 2024 and will debut at WFC in 2025. Larry, a retired Marine, placed 8th in the 2024 SCA Steak Points Chase and is a two-time SCA Steak World Championship finalist.
ACES WILD - CRAIG CARTER
Hailing from the BBQ Capital of the world, Kansas City, MO, Craig behind Aces Wild BBQ has been an avid Pit Master and Grill Master since 2001. Some of his notable achievements include being 2022 SCA Ancillary Points Champion, ranking in the Top 15 for Steak Points in 2022, and winning the Culinary Fight Club Champion titles in 2019 and 2020. Craig was featured on CHOPPED Grill Masters in 2019 and he is a two-time Jack Daniels Tailgate Grill Champion. Craig’s passion lies in spreading the love of grilling and BBQing throughout life's journey.

Travis Barr is pitmaster of All Up In My Grill BBQ - a family BBQ team, based in Las Vegas, NV. He fell in love with competitive BBQ in 2017 while participating in the Nevada BBQ Association’s Spring Training event. He’s been active in the Nevada BBQ community ever since, now entering his 2nd term as NVBBQA President. In addition, Travis is one of the head cooks at John Mull’s Road Kill Grill. He loves cooking over fire for any reason, especially with a cold beer and B&B Charcoal.

Rob Fleming is the passionate pitmaster behind Bama BBQ Supply. Since 2012, he's been competing in prestigious barbecue events in SCA, KCBS and BCA, showcasing his grilling expertise. Rob's skills and friendly nature have earned him respect in the BBQ community.
Beyond competitions, Rob is all about sharing his love for barbecue. You can find him teaching classes at BBQ Hill and he's always ready to offer tips or swap stories with fellow enthusiasts. When not cooking, he enjoys relaxing with friends and family.

Hi I'm Melvin Graham. A pitmaster with Bama-Q and BBQ HILL. I served in the Marine Corps and enjoyed serving my country.
I started barbecuing at an early age for friends and relatives. I developed a love for grilling from watching my uncles cook when we all gathered together for family events. I also love fishing and motorcycle racing. I'm also big into electronics of all types.
I enjoy barbecuing because it brings people together of all types from all places. Barbecuing is truly universal. I am so proud and excited to be a part of Team B&B! The comradery is unmatched!.
BIG JOHN'S BBQ CO - JOHN BOWMAN
I am Big John Bowman, head pitmaster of Big John’s BBQ Company. My barbecue journey began in 2009 in Kansas City, when my wife Kim worked with the marketing agency for the American Royal BBQ. Through her, I attended as a VIP, met top competitors, and tasted some of the best BBQ in the country—an experience that instantly hooked me.
Soon after, I bought a basic offset smoker and immersed myself in learning the craft. What started as cooking for friends and church gatherings grew into catering events and weddings after we moved back to Las Vegas.
In 2015, I launched Big John’s Competition BBQ Team. Highlights include 1st place brisket at the 2024 Golden State Battle, Grand Champion at the 2025 BBQ Jackpot in Las Vegas, and 1st place ribs and Grand Champion at the Best Dam BBQ Challenge in Boulder City.
BBQ is a family effort, with my wife Kim, my parents Rocky and Sandy, and my brother Doug all part of the team.

Hi my name is Brad Olenick, I am the pitmaster of the competition BBQ team Burnin' Money out of Katy, TX. I have been in and around the BBQ competition world since the early 90's. I have been using B&B products with my family ever since I was a young man. I have won numerous awards throughout my years of cooking. I enjoy BBQ and the family I have met and made along my journey.
CAJUN BLAZE - ADAM GAUTREAU
Cajun Blaze Competition BBQ, based in Gonzales, Louisiana, is led by head cook Adam Gautreau and has been a respected force in competitive barbecue since its founding in 2012. The team has competed in over 200 sanctioned contests, earning 49 Grand Championships.
Known for its bold, flavor-forward style, Cajun Blaze blends traditional competition techniques with strong Cajun influence, focusing on cooking by taste rather than strict recipes.
Their accomplishments include a Rib Championship at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo BBQ Cook-Off, a win at Sonny’s Smokin’ Showdown, and making history as the first team to win a KCBS double contest in Tupelo, Mississippi. They have also competed six times at the Jack Daniel’s World Championship Invitational, with a best finish of 4th overall, and earned a Perfect 180 score in pork at their first KCBS event.

Deviant Smoke Competition Cooking Team was started in 2020 by Pit Master Scott Boyers and his partner Danielle Corson. Together, along with their 2 miniature dash hounds, they cook in KCBS Backyard and SCA.. Using Scotts own seasonings for the meats and Danielle's amazing creativity for the ancillaries, they travel the 256 circuit cooking up to 20 events per year.

Hello we are Scotty and Anna Bryce with East Texas Smokers from Timpson TX. We are a husband and wife barbecue competition team that loves to have fun traveling and competing in all different barbecue competitions. Our son Cruz also travels and competes with us. We have won numerous Grand Champions and several top 10 overalls. We was 1 of 5 teams in the World to auto win our way into the Jack Daniels World Invitational by winning 7 State championship.

Matt, better known as “Grumpy,” is the creator of Grumpy’s Great Outdoors BBQ on YouTube. A Virginia farm resident with over 30 years of outdoor cooking experience, he’s raised two kids, spoils three grandkids, and lives among cattle, chickens, and the occasional hog. His channel focuses on no‑nonsense outdoor cooking—helping everyday folks fire up charcoal and wood, cook with confidence, and get back outside. As he likes to say, he’ll meet you at the smoker.

HOLT BROTHERS BBQ - JUSTIN HOLT
A bbq and steak competition team born out of a tribute to their late father, Holt Brothers BBQ competes in the southeast and mid-atlantic US in KCBS and SCA. Brothers Justin and Patrick Holt alongside their sons Max and Hollis roll out many times each year to push out turn in boxes of award winning entries cooked exclusively over B&B products.
HOTTY TOTTY BBQ/STEAK CREW - RONALD & MELISSA BURNS
Our BBQ journey began in 2009 when my sons and I entered a backyard competition in Columbus, MS. What started as a hobby grew into competing on the KCBS circuit, leading to multiple grand championships and invitations to the American Royal and Jack Daniels World Championship. In 2017, I tried my first SCA steak contest and was hooked. Since then, my wife Melissa, our sons, and extended family have competed regularly. We’ve earned 30+ first-place steak wins and countless top-10 finishes. In 2024, Melissa placed 9th in the SCA World Championship. In 2025, we’ll compete in SCA, MBN, and Smokeslam events.

LACE BURGERS - KYLE GUINN
Kyle Guinn is a Texas-based entrepreneur, creative builder, and community-driven business owner known for bringing people together through food and hospitality. Since launching Texas Made Supply Company in 2019, he has focused on building brands rooted in authenticity, craftsmanship, and Texas culture.
In 2022, Kyle launched Lace Burgers, a live-fire Wagyu smash burger concept that quickly gained a loyal following across Central Texas. Known for cooking over open flame with premium ingredients and no shortcuts, Lace Burgers has earned recognition as one of the top burgers in Georgetown and Austin, including a second-place finish among top Texas burger spots.
Outside of business, Kyle is a proud husband and father of three who values family, creativity, and community. Whether behind the grill or developing new concepts, he brings passion and intention to everything he does, with a simple mission: serve people well and create meaningful experiences.
MEAN GENE'S COOKIN' TEAM - HANK & TIA COUCH
I’m a 3rd generation competition cook. My grandpa Arnold Couch “Cuz” started the first team, “Shake Rag Hawg Cookers” and my dad Gene started his team “Mean Gene” in 1989. Both won more awards than I could count. I was 17 in my first competition when I cooked a whole goat, winning the contest.
Since then I've been competing with the help of my wife Tia and our son Paxton. This is a family tradition and we love to compete with each other and against each other. That’s what it’s all about keeping Family Traditions alive and having fun.
MEATFREAKZ - LAWRENCE BLAYLOCK
Team Meatfreakz was founded in 2022 by Lawrence Blaylock and CR Little in Mississippi. The team consists of Lawrence Blaylock, CR Little, and Michael Hare. The award-winning team includes our Meatfreakz Junior members participating in Kids' Cooks. Team Meatfreakz branched off into the world of competitive cooking on Jan 29, 2022, and to this day, we are fascinated by the BBQ community and all that it offers. We are a competitive cooking and catering team based in central Mississippi. Lawrence's passion for BBQ started several years ago when he opened his first restaurant. The passion ignited as a backyard hobby that went crazy during the pandemic. Meatfreakz now has a following of over 40,000 and is growing. We are thankful for the opportunity to cook and participate in the BBQ and cooking community.

Steve and Jen live in Stillwater, MN and have participated in food sport events for the past 12 years. From winning local rib contests to a 1st place call at the Jack Daniel's World Championship, Phoenix BBQ is continually rising from the ashes. They proudly use B&B charcoal, wood and rubs for all their outdoor cooking adventures.
PIG DIAMONDS BBQ - BRENT LITTLE
Brent Little (@engineerofque) is an engineer by trade but has a passion for BBQ. In 2013 he joined one of the oldest Memphis in May (MIM) teams - Pig Diamond BBQ. In 2018, Brent and his family moved to Brazil where he showcased Memphis flavors at events in Brazil. Since 2019 a few of his close Brazil Pitmaster friends have joined him each year for MIM. In 2020, they moved back to Memphis where he first started using B&B. He has many top 10s and a few 1st place awards as well. He enjoys spending time with family, coaching his kids sports, BBQ, and creating unique recipes using B&B products

Mike Steele is the pitmaster of the nationally recognized BBQ team Pigs & Cow Gone Wild. Competing since 2013, he has built one of the most respected resumes in competition barbecue, with over 45 Grand and Reserve Grand Championships and more than 200 Top 10 finishes. He is also a five-time Louisiana State Points Champion and finished 9th overall at his first Jack Daniel’s Invitational.
Beyond competition, Mike is the founder of BBQ Champs Academy, the world’s first online BBQ cooking school taught by champion pitmasters. Through it, he has helped thousands of cooks improve their craft.
He also hosts a weekly BBQ Champs Academy podcast, featuring pitmasters from across the country. In 2023, Mike was featured on Food Network’s BBQ USA, where he finished as Reserve Grand Champion.

I’m Russ Allen of the REDBONES BBQ Competition Team. I started competing in 2018, quickly caught the bug, and haven’t looked back. In 2020, I was named KCBS Backyard World Champion in chicken and finished 8th in ribs.
I’ve qualified for and competed in the World Food Championships for five consecutive years in both steak and BBQ, and have also qualified multiple times for the SCA World Championships in Fort Worth, Texas. Since 2019, I’ve been part of the Bama-Q TV Pro Staff.

I'm Brett Childs, the pitmaster behind Smoke Ring and Bark, a competition BBQ and steak team.
I've been cooking since I was a kid, with my dad being the biggest inspiration as he grilled in our backyard. After competing in a local BBQ contest, I got hooked on competition cooking and now mostly compete in SCA, KCBS, and MSG events.

My name is Rylee Wright, also known as Steak Princess BBQ. I am the creator of Steak Princess BBQ Rubs. I am currently 18 years old. I am a Senior in High School in GA. I am also dual enrolled and attending Point University for two college classes. I love to grill, cook and create new recipes. I also play flag football at my high school. I currently compete in KCBS Backyard and SCA. I won the 1st Annual World Jr. Championship at SmokeSlam In May of 2024. I won my first two KCBS Grand Championships in 2024 at Sip and Swine in GA and Poose Q in AL.
STOCKYARD LANDING - JAMES CRUSE
James is from Arabi, LA, a small town near New Orleans. While Louisiana isn't known for bbq, James has taken BBQ to the world stage with a remarkable resume: World Champion, Top 3 in the world for three years, National Champion, top 10 in all three major BBQ world championships, 33 Grand Championships (3 at Hogs for the Cause), 150+ top 10 finishes, appearances on Food Network's BBQ Brawl, local and national media. STRESS RELIEF BBQ -SANDY & TIM BROWN
Tim and Sandy Brown of Stress Relief BBQ,(Rockford, Illinois USA) are all-in competitors on the Steak Cookoff Association circuit, racking up a combined 95 wins, over 600 top-10 walks and three SCA USA Championships from 2019 to present. They attribute their success to their passion for cooking and forging friendships on the SCA circuit, which has taken them to 24 states and as far away as Australia and New Zealand. On the rare weekends when they’re not competing, you’ll usually find Tim and Sandy teaching steak-cooking classes and sharing their wisdom and experience with others.
SWEET CHEEKS PIT BBQ - MORGAN CHEEK
Morgan Cheek is pitmaster of the Sweet Cheeks Pit BBQ team. They started cooking in 2010 and have won multiple grand championships in the KCBS backyard They started SCA in 2020 and participated in the Worlds in 2022 & 2023.
THACKER MOUNTAIN BBQ - HOLLY & STEVEN JUBERA
Holly and Steven make up the Thacker Mountain BBQ team. Their love of open fire cooking started because Holly thought Steven needed a hobby to get his mind off his day job. They primarily compete on the Steak Cookoff Association circuit, but dabble occasionally with barbecue contests where they are team members on MBN and KCBS teams.
THE FAT PASTOR - SHAWN NILES
Shawn Niles, known as The Fat Pastor, is a Yakima, Washington–based private chef and food sports leader with roots in MasterChef, international kitchens, and live-fire cooking. After Gordon Ramsay told him he was “born to cook,” Shawn trained in Italy, Spain, and Portugal, including time with Chef Massimo Bottura.
He is the founder of Bite Club, the nation’s first legal underground dining club, and Urban Kitchen, a free culinary program for underserved youth.
A decorated competitor, Shawn earned a perfect 100 in Live Fire at the World Food Championships and now serves as a judge, host, and event creator—continuing to push the boundaries of open-fire cooking.

I’m Travis Patterson, the founder of The Grill Hustle. My journey with fire and smoke started back in 2017, and what a ride it’s been. From the early days of backyard experiments to the incredible honor of "walking the stage" at Memphis in May, I’ve been fortunate enough to take home awards across the KCBS, SCA, and BCA circuits. Whether I’m competing for a trophy or leading a cooking class, my favorite part of the hustle is seeing friends and family gather around the grill.

I'm Dwain, a small town family man with a passion for cooking for small groups of friends and family. Together with my best friend we began our journey in 2022 in the competition barbecue scene as a way to give back to our community with donations and fundraising support. Nathan and Miriam Benson are the members of Uncle Jesse's BBQ. They love competition, but they also love sharing their passion with others. WEBER NINJA - BRANDON WILLIAMS
Brandon Williams, aka Weber Ninja, is from Sulphur Springs, TX and lives by his mission of spreading happiness with grilling. As an avid steak cookoff competitor, he won 1st place in his group of 50 during the preliminary round of the 2024 SCA World Championship, ultimately finishing 13th in the world out of 400 teams. He's also won 1st place at seven other events. When he's not on the competition trail, he enjoys featuring his favorite grills, accessories, and foods on his social channels.

My name is Derrick Walz owner/operator of @walzoffire and team member of West Coast BBQ Shop Competition team based out of San Diego, Ca.
As a certified KCBS Judge/Table Captain, Pitmaster for Cali BBQ Media and involved in organizing backyard and Master Series Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS) BBQ competitions in Southern California; I was invited to join the BBQ competition trail in 2022 with the aim of achieving rookie of the year for California BBQ Association (CBBQA). During this journey, we managed to secure the rookie of the year title, as well as 5 Grand/Reserve Grand Championships and sponsorship from Big Green Egg.

WRIGHT ON Q - RUSSELL & KAREN WRIGHT
Wright on Q is a nationally recognized competition BBQ team led by Karen and Russell Wright. Karen Wright is the reigning 2025 Steak Cookoff Association World Champion, and together, the Wrights have been lighting up grills since the early 2000s.
Traveling the country, they compete in both BBQ and steak competitions across a variety of prestigious organizations, earning accolades and respect wherever they go. Their passion for the craft runs deep—and it’s a family affair. Their daughter, known in the circuit as Steak Princess BBQ, proudly carries on the family legacy.

XTREME TEXAS COOKERS - PHONG VUONG
Born in Vietnam and arriving in Houston, Texas, in 1975, Phong started BBQ'ing with his family in the backyard. He joined a cooking team in 1990 and has won ribs and Grand Champion in Houston twice. He started their own team, Xtreme Texas Cookers, in 1999. In 2000, he won 1st place brisket in Houston and the World Champion Brisket at HLSR. From 2000 to 2017, he has achieved numerous awards, including 1st runner-up brisket and 1st place brisket titles, making his team one of the most winning teams at HLSR cook-off to date. Phong's love and passion for cooking and smoking BBQ bring friendship and family together throughout the world.
