A TRADITIONALLY FRENCH-TRAINED CULINARY CHEF AND FOOD STYLING ARTIST IN THE GREATER PHILADELPHIA AREA, CHEF HIRAM HAS CROSSED FROM THE CULINARY WORLD INTO THE BBQ WORLD.

With over 25 years of experience and practice, Hiram has been able to perfect and execute over 20 world cuisines. He specializes in fusion cooking, as a way to introduce new flavor profiles to traditional dishes. Trained under amazing chefs, he worked his way up the ranks. Hiram become an Executive Chef at the young age of 22, and he’s never looked back over 20 years learning!

Over the past few years, since 2016, Hiram has ventured off into the private chef sector. He covers various states, in both catering with Lions Den Catering and in competition (SCA, KCBS, WFC CFC NEBS.) #TeamGW …. over the span crossing into both the kitchen and BBQ arenas.

When Hiram isn’t behind a stove in the kitchen, whether at a restaurant or a private home, he likes to take it outside for some great BBQ. His favorite cookers include Meadow Creek Pig Roaster, Hunsaker Pit Barrel Smokers, Rec Tec Pellet, and Weber.

Growing up in a Puerto Rican family, Hiram’s favorite cuisine is the traditional cuisine of his roots, with bold Spanish flavors heavily influencing his style. As a classically trained French chef, you can bet a lot of impressive French dishes are part of his repertoire.

The influence of his family and his training has led Hiram to embrace fusion cooking. This takes a unique turn in his food, where a combination of BBQ meets traditional cooking with a global influence.

Lions Den Catering is both Hiram’s catering company and food truck that he uses to travel to both to catering and competition events. He has been at it for for 3 years strong and covered 32 states.

Hiram caters multiple weddings and events a year and also competes in #foodsport. Private chef jobs and his passion for the restaurant industry are his driving point, so no matter where or for whom he is cooking, Hiram strives for culinary perfection.

GREATEST BBQ ACHIEVEMENT

Chef Hiram has a long list of achievements that he has trained hard for. This includes: Sous Chef Of Year at the World Food Championships in 2016; World Chicken Champ Qualifier in 2018; Philly Blended Burger Champ CFC in 2018; Bull All Star Burger Battle GC (CFC) (RIBSWITHIN) in 2017; Reserve GC (Ribs Within) Springfield Mass (KCBS0); and RGC (OBR Grill and Chill) Catskills NY in 2018.

While on the competition circuit and running a successful catering company, Hiram has also managed to host and appear on his own live cooking show and be featured on Pa Live eyewitness news cooking segment monthly 2019.
